We tested: The Hotel Artist Residence London
It’s by reading L’Officiel Voyage, one of our favorite magazines at the time, which we discovered there’Artist Residence London.
During a stay in London in December, we were fortunate enough to be invited to discover this establishment that immediately intrigued us.
And as soon as we arrived, we realized that we were in a hotel a little different from the others.
Located in the district of Pimlico, Located a few minutes’ walk from Victoria Station, Artist Residence London has a very special atmosphere. Here, there’s no impersonal grand lobby or monumental reception desk: instead, it’s more like walking through the door of a private home. beautiful London house full of personality.
A hotel like a London house
From the street, the elegant facade of the establishment blends perfectly with the architecture of the neighborhood.
Inside, the atmosphere is completely different from that of traditional large hotels.
The restaurant and the common areas are located along the entrance, and check-in takes place in a small space that further reinforces the impression of being welcomed into a home.
The decoration immediately appealed to us.
We find a mixture of vintage, contemporary and design, With many found objects and furniture that seem to each have their own story.
Old telephones, industrial furniture, works of art and decorative objects blend together in a very natural way.
Nothing seems really standardized, and that’s exactly what gives the hotel so much character.
❤️ A warm and relaxed atmosphere
We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival.
The atmosphere is very relaxed, far from the sometimes very formal side of some high-end hotels.
The staff introduces us to the different areas of the hotel before taking us to our room.
It was this contrast that particularly appealed to us: an elegant hotel, but without a lively atmosphere.
You quickly feel comfortable there.
🛏️ Our suite at the Artist Residence London
Then we discover our Suite n°4.
And again, the first impression is immediate.
A reception station is playing soft music and we take the time to look at all the details of this large room.
The decoration mixes several influences: vintage, industrial, Art Deco and contemporary.
The result is very harmonious.
The custom-made king-size bed takes up a central place in the room and immediately makes you want to move in.
There is also a very beautiful sofa, vintage leather club chairs, a solid wood coffee table and a colorful rug that adds even more personality to the whole space.
Each element seems to have been carefully chosen.
And that’s probably what we liked the most: the room does not resemble a classic hotel room.
She has a real identity.
🛁 A bathroom full of character
The bathroom continues to have exactly the same atmosphere.
It blends the charm of an old-fashioned decor with modern comfort.
But the element that immediately catches our attention is obviously the bathtub.
Installed in the center of the room, this bathtub Catchpole & Rye gives the bathroom a truly retro and luxurious feel.
To this is added a large rain shower.
This is the kind of bathroom that almost makes you want to take your time staying in the room rather than immediately leaving to explore London!
🎨 A hotel with a human size
The Artist Residence London is precisely appreciated for its Small number of rooms, This contributes enormously to its intimate atmosphere.
At the time of our stay, the establishment only had 10 rooms, including 2 suites, All of them are decorated with their own personality.
It is very different from the large London hotels where the rooms can sometimes all look alike.
Here, each space has its own unique atmosphere, which is what makes the place so charming.

❤️ Our opinion on Artist Residence London
Our stay at the Artist Residence left us with a very nice memory.
What we particularly liked was the soul of this hotel.
The decor, the vintage furniture, the relaxed atmosphere and the different rooms all give the impression of staying in an independent establishment rather than a standard hotel.
