Travel gifts: 60 ideas for Christmas 2026 (from 8 €)
Finding a gift for someone who travels isn't that easy. It's easy to end up with gadgets that end up in the bottom of a closet, or with items that they already have. So this year, I've done the sorting for you.
Here is 60 gift ideas for travelers, These are classified by profile and budget, from 8 € to 450 €. From long-distance train enthusiasts to families with children, from backpackers to train lovers, there is something for everyone.
I included items I use myself, like my DJI Osmo Pocket 4 camera that has been following me everywhere for two months, and ideas drawn from my travels: I traveled around Europe twice, including one Interrail trip at the age of 25. I also added the 2026 updates and the new rules from airlines regarding external batteries, to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
Have a coffee, settle in, and let yourself be inspired. Your future gift is somewhere on this list!
A small clarification in all transparency: this article contains affiliate links. If you buy a gift through one of them, I get a small commission, but that absolutely doesn't change anything for you: the price remains exactly the same. It's just a way to support the blog, so thank you!

For those addicted to airplanes
On a long flight, everything depends on three things: sleeping, having peace and not running out of battery. These seven ideas really make a twelve-hour flight more enjoyable.
Photo: Avantree SoundJet R1The Bluetooth adapter for the plane: Avantree SoundJet R1
- Less than €50
- For long-distance shipping regulars
- 25 hours of autonomy
It's my gift «why I didn't think of that before». The screens on airplane seats only have one jack socket, and no one travels anymore with wired headphones. The SoundJet R1 from Avantree plugs into this socket and sends the movie sound directly to your AirPods or wireless headphones.
It's small, charges in a few hours and lasts about 25 hours: enough to complete a Paris–Tokyo trip, the stopover and return without having to recharge it. It also works in the gym or on an old stereo system.
My advice: Pair your headphones before departure, at home, in peace. On the plane, you just have to plug them in.

Photo: Bluetooth sleep maskThe 3D sleep mask with Bluetooth headphones (Morelax)
- About 16 €
- For those who have trouble sleeping in transport
- Rated 4.2/5 by more than 1,200 buyers
The little genius of night flights: a 3D mask that doesn't touch the eyelids and blocks out light, with flat Bluetooth headphones hidden in the fabric. You throw on your playlist, a podcast or a white noise, and you fall asleep without having headphones in your ears. You can sleep on your back as well as on your side.
For less than €20, it's my favorite gift for budget travelers: useful on the plane, on the night train, in a dorm… and even at home.
My advice: Pair it with the Bluetooth adapter (idea 1) to listen to the airplane movie directly in the mask.

Photo: Loop Quiet 2The reusable earplugs Loop Quiet 2
- About 25 €
- Plane, dorm room, neighbor who snores
- Rated 4.2/5 by over 34,000 buyers
The Loop Quiet 2 reduce noise by 24 dB: the hum of the motors, the doors slamming at the inn, and the roommate snoring become a distant murmur. Made from flexible silicone, they are comfortable enough to sleep on the side, and come with multiple sizes of ear tips to fit all ears.
Reusable and washable, they travel in their small case attached to the key ring. Goodbye the foam plugs that you lose after two nights!
My advice: The perfect combo for a night in the air is them + the mask from idea 2. For a gift under 45 €, you offer the complete sleep kit.

Photo: FLOWZOOM cushionThe FLOWZOOM Comfy memory foam travel pillow
- Approximately €32
- For those who sleep sitting
- No. 1 in sales of travel pillows on Amazon
Let's be honest: with the inflatable U-shaped pillow, you always end up with your head on your neighbor's shoulder. The FLOWZOOM Comfy, on the other hand, is made of memory foam and adjusts to hold your neck at 360°—front and sides alike. Gone are the torticollis problems at the end of the day.
Its plush cover is super soft and machine washable, and it comes with a carrying pouch to hang on the bag. It also works great in the car or on a night train.
My advice: With the mask (idea 2) and the Loop plugs (idea 3), you get a complete sleep kit for about €73. Guaranteed success for a big traveler!

Photo: Bose QuietComfortThe Bose QuietComfort noise-canceling headphones (2nd generation)
- About 350 €
- Great travelers, digital nomads
- Up to 24 hours of autonomy
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.5/5
The premium gift par excellence. You put on the headphones, activate the noise reduction function, and the humming of the motors disappears: you arrive much less dusty after ten hours of flight. Bose has been a benchmark in this field for years, and this new generation does not disappoint.
With up to 24 hours of battery life, it can handle long-distance flights. It charges via USB-C, and that same cable also allows for lossless audio playback. And I have to admit I’m drawn to its fresh mint color scheme, which is more original than the eternal black.
My advice: Wait for Black Friday (November 27th), the headphones in this range are often on sale. And pair it with the Idea 1 adapter to watch movies on the plane wirelessly.

Photo: Kemier folding water bottleThe Kemier silicone folding water bottle (750 ml)
- About 17 €
- To avoid the €5 bottle in the boarding area
- Without BPA
The trick that all smart travelers know: you go through security with the water bottle empty, and you fill it up at a fountain right after. The one in Kemier holds 750 ml and, once empty, it wraps itself up to fit in a bag pocket.
Made of BPA-free silicone, it is waterproof and won't leak in the bag. It is also great for hiking, the beach or during visits: your wallet and the planet will thank you.
My advice: Rinse with some warm water and baking soda before first use to avoid the slight silicone taste.

Photo: Dr. Scholl's socksThe Dr. Scholl's airline compression socks
- About 20 €
- Flights of more than 6 hours
- Choice of Amazon
Okay, this isn't the most glamorous gift on the list. But ask any frequent long-distance flyer: after ten hours of sitting, swollen ankles and heavy legs, you'd be better off without them. These Dr. Scholl's socks are designed specifically for the plane, with compression that helps blood flow back up.
Black and understated, they go unnoticed under a pair of trousers. They are sold in pairs and in different sizes (from 40 to 44 for this model): please check the size of the person before ordering.
Specifically: In the event of a history of phlebitis or circulatory problems, seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist, who can recommend an appropriate compression class.

When you live with a bag on your back for months, every gram counts. The best gifts make room, weight, or laundry time. And for coffee lovers, I even found the perfect way to make a real espresso from the other side of the world.
Photo: Eastpak TravelpackThe Eastpak Travelpack travel backpack
- Approximately €95
- Future world travelers, fans of cabin luggage
- Tested by me
I have it, and I love it: it's my travel bag and it's really very practical! Traveling for weeks with only one bag on your back, never having to go through the overhead compartment or wait in the baggage claim: that's every backpacker's dream. The Travelpack from Eastpak is designed for that, with a carry-on size and a large compartment that fills up like a suitcase.
Eastpak is also the brand of bags that last: this one is designed to withstand the bus rides at night, the ferries, and the tuk-tuk seats. In solid black, it looks just as good in the city for the weekend as it does on a world tour.
My advice: Check the cabin baggage dimensions of the low-cost airline that the person uses most often; they vary from one company to another. And add the storage cubes (idea 10) to organize them.

Photo: foldable flintronic bagThe ultralight folding backpack flintronic (20 L)
- About 16 €
- Backpackers, hikers
- Waterproof
The large bag remains at the hostel, and for the day of the visit, we take out this small 20-liter bag that folds into its own pocket. It weighs almost nothing, slips into the suitcase without taking up any space, and holds a water bottle, a k-way, a camera, and a picnic lunch.
Its waterproof fabric protects your belongings from a tropical downpour. It is also suitable for trips to the market, a hike, or a bike ride. For less than 20 €, it is the quintessential useful gift.
My advice: It is the perfect complement to the Eastpak bag (idea 8): together, they form the ideal duo for traveling in carry-on luggage.

Photo: Samfolk cubesSamfolk compression storage cubes (set of 8)
- About 28 €
- Those who change their accommodation frequently
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.5/5
One cube for t-shirts, one for underwear, one for dirty laundry, one for cables… With these cubes, you can find everything in ten seconds, even in a dorm room that’s plunged into darkness, and you can reassemble your bag in two minutes flat.
The compression zipper crushes the clothes and frees up a crazy amount of space in the bag. The set includes 8 pieces in different sizes (about €3.50 each), and it is partly made with recycled materials.
My advice: Choose a color by category (clothes, dirty laundry, electronics): you will always know where to look.

Photo: Fit-Flip towelThe compact Fit-Flip microfiber towel
- About 10 €
- Huts, hiking, beach, swimming pool
- Rated 4.3/5 by more than 11,000 buyers
It dries much faster than a cotton towel, weighs a third of the weight and rolls up in a tiny pouch. Goodbye to the still-wet towel that you reluctantly put in the bag on the morning of your departure.
In a youth hostel, where the towel is often paid for, it pays off in a few nights. It also goes from the shower to the beach, the pool or the yoga mat. At that price, it's the perfect little gift to slip under the tree.
My advice: Take the large size for the beach and shower, the small one for hiking or the gym.
See the price on Amazon
Photo: JAICOM bag coverThe ultra-lightweight JAICOM bag cover (meat bag)
- About 20 €
- Hostels, refuges, night trains
- Only 150 g
The «meat bag» is this cloth sewn into the shape of a sleeping bag that you slip between yourself and a sometimes dubious bedding. The one from JAICOM weighs only 150 g, when rolled up it fits in the palm of your hand, and its nylon fabric is soft on the skin.
In a youth hostel, in a refuge, during the night or with a local, he changes everything: you sleep in your own, clean sheets wherever you are. He also adds a little warmth to a sleeping bag. It's typically the clever little thing you never buy yourself… hence the interest in giving it away!
My advice: Wash it on arrival of each major stage; it dries in a few hours on a wire.
See the price on Amazon
Photo: Scrubba 2.0The Scrubba 2.0 portable washing bag
- Approximately 53 €
- Long-term travelers
- Rated 4.5/5 by over 1,900 buyers
The Scrubba is a washing machine that fits in your pocket. A waterproof bag with a flexible washing board integrated inside: you put your clothes in, some water and detergent, close the lid, run it for a few minutes, and it's clean. No need to go to a laundromat halfway around the world.
The result: you leave with half as many clothes, your bag is lighter, and you save time (and money) at every step. When empty, it folds up and packs up in no time. A true must-have for long-distance travel.
My advice: Offer it with solid detergent or travel soap. And for drying, a small elastic laundry cord will delight the person.

Photo: UNBON headlightThe UNBON rechargeable front light
- About 16 €
- Campers, hikers, backpackers
- Rated 4.5/5 by over 1,700 buyers
Searching through your bag in a dorm room, entering a restaurant through a dark alley without any lighting, or reading under the tent: the front flap is the item you always forget… and always need. UNBON's front flap is USB-C-compatible, with the same cable as your phone: no more batteries needed.
It is lightweight, resistant to rain (IPX4), and features two great features: a motion detector that turns it on or off with a hand gesture, and a magnetic base to attach it to a metal surface and keep your hands free.
My advice: In the dorm, turn the intensity down to the minimum to avoid waking anyone up. Your roommates will thank you!

Photo: TSA padlock DiyifeThe TSA code locks Diyife (set of 2)
- About 10 € each
- Habituated to hostels, travelers in the United States
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.5/5 by over 14,000 buyers
A padlock is the reassuring little object: to close a hostel locker, the zipper on the bag in a night bus, or the suitcase at the hotel. Those from Diyife work with a 3-digit code that you choose: no more keys to lose in the bottom of a pocket.
They carry the TSA label: US customs officers can open them with their special key without cutting them. This is essential if the person is going to the United States. The two-pack (black and blue) allows for one for the bag and one for the briefcase.
My advice: Choose a code that is easy to remember but different from your bank card, and write it down in your phone in case you need it.

Photo: Mercurochrome kitThe Mercurochrome First Aid Kit
- About 10 €
- First big departure, parents
- Rated 4.5/5, #1 in sales in its category
A blister after a day of hiking, a cut on a trail, a cut while cooking at the inn: on a trip, little mishaps always happen at the wrong time. This compact Mercurochrome kit contains 17 ready-made items: bandages, compresses, strips, wipes, scissors, and saline solution.
It easily fits into a backpack or suitcase. Just complete it with your personal medications. It's the reassuring gift... especially for the person who offers it!
My advice: add a tick remover, special ampoule bandages and an anti-mosquito repellent adapted to the destination.

Photo: Lamazuna boxThe Lamazuna zero waste box «The Essentials»
- About 21 €
- Travelers in cabin baggage, eco-friendly travelers
- French brand
The problem with the small 100 ml liquid pouch at security check? With this kit, it disappears. The French brand Lamazuna has put together the essentials of the solid toiletry set: a shampoo with Abyssinian oil, a solid toothpaste with peppermint, a solid deodorant, and a wooden earbud (the reusable earbud that replaces cotton swabs).
Nothing leaks in the bag, everything lasts a long time, and there's almost no packaging to throw away. I no longer travel in any other way, and it's a great gift to introduce zero waste in a gentle way.
My advice: Let the solid products air dry after use, then store them in a small metal box or cotton bag.

Photo: Loly's Secrets kitThe wavy hair travel kit: Loly's Secrets
- About 40 €
- Travelers with wavy or curly hair
- Cabin format (4 x 100 ml)
- Choice of Amazon
Traveling with wavy and curly hair is often a hassle: the humidity, the sun, the hotel's limestone water… and no way to bring the large bottles from the bathroom. This set from the French brand Les Secrets de Loly includes the complete routine in travel-sized packaging: shampoo, after-shampoo, leave-in conditioner and curling gel.
Each product is 100 ml: the pouch then goes into the cabin, in the liquid bag. This means you can keep beautiful hair clips from the first day to the last day of the trip, without sacrificing space in the suitcase.
My advice: It is a very personal gift, reserved for wavy or curly hair. If you are not sure about the nature of your hair, the Lamazuna zero waste kit (idea 17) will appeal to everyone.

Photo: Minipresso NS2The portable Wacaco Minipresso NS2 espresso machine
- About 60 €
- Addicted to coffee, vanlifers
My favorite for coffee lovers. A real espresso with cream, by a lake or in the back of a van, without electricity. You put in a compatible Nespresso Original capsule, hot water, and you pump it up to 18 bars by hand. It weighs 290 g, measures 13 cm, and also serves as a cup. And its beige stone color is gorgeous.
Specifically: it does not heat the water. Plan to have a kettle, a small camping stove or a thermos of hot water. The paper membrane capsules are not compatible.
See the price on AmazonFor connected travelers
For me, a good tech gift solves a real problem: the lost suitcase, the dead battery, the missing plug. Note that the rules have changed in 2026 for batteries on airplanes (I explain that in idea 21).
Photo: AirTag 2The Apple AirTag luggage tracker (2nd generation)
- About 28 € (35 € Apple price)
- Everyone who puts luggage in the hold
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.6/5 by more than 6,000 buyers
You slide it into the suitcase and your iPhone tells you where it is, even if it decided to make a stopover in Frankfurt on its own. Gone are the worries about the luggage carousel that goes blank: you immediately know whether your suitcase is on the plane… or not.
Available in early 2026, this second generation is 1.5 times more powerful and sounds louder than the first. It works as a keychain with an iPhone or iPad. It also works very well for the key chain, wallet, or backpack.
Attention: The AirTag only works with an iPhone or iPad. For a friend on Android, choose a Google-compatible tracker or a Samsung SmartTag.
My advice: The four-pack is cheaper per unit: one for each family suitcase, and it's a gift to share!
See the price on Amazon
Photo: Nobis batteryThe Nobis 20,000 mAh (45 W) external battery
- About 33 €
- Everyone
- Rated 4.4/5 by more than 5,700 buyers
Between the photos, the GPS and the translation apps, the phone runs out of power quickly while traveling. With its 20,000 mAh battery, this Nobis phone charges several times, and its 45 W USB-C power can even power a compatible laptop. Its four ports allow you to charge multiple devices at once, and a small screen displays the remaining battery.
Good news: with about 74 Wh, it falls below the 100 Wh limit allowed in the cabin without any special procedure.
The rules changed in 2026: An external battery always travels in the cabin, never in the hold. And more and more airlines are banning its use during the flight: the Lufthansa group (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Brussels, Eurowings, Edelweiss) from January 15, 2026, Japan from April 24, 2026, and Emirates. Therefore, it is mainly used once it arrives.

Photo: UGREEN Zapix chargerThe GaN UGREEN Zapix charging station (100 W, 6 ports)
- About 36 € (instead of 56 €)
- Digital nomads, families, couples
- Rated 4.6/5
In the evening at the hotel, it's always the same thing: a phone, a watch, a reader, the camera… and only one free outlet behind the nightstand. This UGREEN station charges up to 6 devices at once on a single outlet, with a total of 100 W: enough to quickly charge an iPhone, an iPad and even a MacBook at the same time.
Thanks to GaN technology, it remains compact for such power. The result: a single block in the bag instead of a collection of chargers. For two or as a family, it's a real space saver.
My advice: Pair it with a universal adapter (idea 23) to use it anywhere in the world.
See the price on Amazon
Photo: NEWMOWO adapterThe NEWMOWO universal travel adapter with USB-C
- About 13 €
- As soon as we leave Europe
- More than 100 countries
The classic one that comes in handy for all sorts of situations: getting to London, New York or Sydney and not being able to plug in your phone is a kind of hassle that only happens once in a lifetime. This adapter covers UK, USA, European and Australian outlets, which means more than 100 countries.
Its great strength: in addition to the sector socket, it integrates two USB ports and a USB-C port for fast charging (20 W). So you can charge your phone, your watch and your camera on a single wall outlet, without having to carry three chargers.
My advice: An adapter does not convert the voltage. Check that your devices accept 100-240 V (this is written on the charger), especially a hairdryer or a curling iron.

Photo: Kindle Paperwhite SignatureThe Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (2029)
- Approximately €260
- Great readers, lifelong travelers
- New feature 2026
Amazon renewed its entire Kindle range in October 2026, and this Signature version is the most accomplished: a thinner aluminum casing, a 7-inch screen that reads in full sunlight like a book page, and lighting that adapts itself to the ambient light, from the beach to the inn bed.
With 32 GB, it holds thousands of books: goodbye to the three novels that add weight to your bag, and goodbye to the hassle of finding a book in French around the world. It comes with no ads on the home screen. In short, the dream gift for a big reader who travels.
My advice: If the budget is tighter, the standard Kindle Paperwhite 2026 (about €210) offers the same screen. And the 2024 model, still excellent, is often on sale.
See the price on AmazonAn eSIM plan for the next destination (Holafly or Saily)
- From 5 to 60 € depending on the destination
- Travel outside the European Union
- Exclusive promo codes
No more having to look for a SIM card in the airport lobby after 12 hours of flying: with an eSIM, you buy your internet package before leaving, install it by scanning a QR code, and you have a network upon landing. This is one of the most convenient gifts on this list, and it arrives by email: perfect for last-minute bookings!
I use two services that I recommend. Holafly offers unlimited data, ideal for those who share a lot of photos and videos. Saily offers packages by country or region at low prices, perfect for a multi-stage trip.
To check: that the person's phone is eSIM-compatible and unlocked (this is the case with most recent smartphones).
Photo: SSK SSD keyThe SSK 256 GB SSD key to back up his photos
- About 57 €
- Photographers, digital nomads
- Rated 4.6/5 by over 10,000 buyers
A phone stolen or dropped into the water, and weeks of memories are lost. This SSK SSD key is the little disaster insurance: big as a USB key, it has two connectors (USB-C and USB-A) and plugs directly into a smartphone, tablet or computer.
With speeds of up to 550 MB/s, it copies hundreds of photos in just a few moments, much faster than a traditional USB drive. 256 GB is enough to store tens of thousands of photos safely, even without Wi‑Fi for the cloud.
My advice: Make a habit of backing up every two or three days, and keep the key in a different bag than your phone.

Photo: JBL Go 5The JBL Go 5 waterproof Bluetooth speaker
- About 45 €
- Travels with friends, beach, camping
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.7/5
Whether it's for the beach, camping, an aperitif on the terrace of the inn, or a shower at the hotel: the JBL Go 5 is tiny, waterproof, and it delivers surprisingly powerful sound for its size. It lasts for about 10 hours, enough to keep you entertained for an entire day of road tripping.
This new generation adds a few good ideas: ambient lighting on the sides, ultra-simple pairing, and Auracast compatibility, which allows you to connect multiple compatible speakers together for more sound. It is available in several colors, so you can find the one that will please you.
My advice: Attach it to your backpack with a carabiner. And in public transport or dorms, keep the music on in your headphones!

Photo: JTDO multi-outletThe compact 7-in-1 wall power strip JTDO
- Approximately 24 €
- Couples, families, dormitories
- 3 outlets + USB ports
In hostels and hotel rooms, there is never enough outlets, and they are always hidden behind the bed. This small block plugs directly into the wall and turns one outlet into 3 AC outlets, plus USB ports including one USB-C. No cable to drag around, and a light indicator to know that it is properly powered.
The result: the phone, watch, camera and e-reader all charge at the same time. And in the dorm, you instantly become the most popular person in the dorm!
My advice: It's a French-style plug. Outside of continental Europe, connect it to the universal adapter (idea 23): a single adapter is then enough for all your devices.
See the price on Amazon
Photo: Fire TV Stick HDThe Fire TV Stick HD key to staying connected while traveling
- Approximately 65 €
- Long-term travelers, digital nomads
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.2/5
It's an object that's often taken with you when you're away for a long time. You plug it into the HDMI port on the TV in your hotel or apartment, connect to the Wi-Fi, and you can access all your favorite platforms: Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, but also TF1 and M6. Your apps are in French, with your accounts and your current series. Gone are the evenings spent watching incomprehensible local channels!
This new generation of TVs is powered directly from the TV itself, so there’s no need to look for an available outlet. The voice remote with Alexa allows you to find your favorite shows in a single sentence.
Specifically: Depending on the country, some content (especially French channels) may not be accessible, and the Wi-Fi in some hotels with a login page is sometimes unreliable with the key.
See the price on AmazonFor photographers and videographers
The smartphone already takes very beautiful photos. A good photo gift brings what it can't do: filming underwater, flying, 360° rotation, or printing on the spot.
Photo: DJI Osmo Pocket 4The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 pocket camera (my favorite)
- Approximately €449
- Vloggers, content creators, travelers who film
- Tested by me
This is my travel camera; I've been using it for two months and I can't get rid of it! The Osmo Pocket 4 fits in my pocket, but it hides a real 3-axis gimbal stabilizer: even when walking in a busy alley or filming from a tuk-tuk, the images remain perfectly smooth, without the «camera shaking» effect.
Its large 1-inch sensor makes a real difference when the light is low, at sunset or in a restaurant. It shoots in 4K, up to 240 frames per second for stunning slow motion, with a 2x lossless zoom and a beautiful dynamic range for bright skies. Ideal for vlogs, family memories or videos for social media.
My advice: It's the perfect alternative to an action camera when you film mainly in the city, on a walk, or facing the camera. For diving and extreme sports, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 (idea 31) remains more suitable.
See the price on Amazon
Photo: Insta360 Ace Pro 2Insta360 Ace Pro 2 action camera (dual battery pack)
- Approximately €399
- Athletes, diversifiers, content creators
- Rated 4.6/5
To film a dive, a bike descent, a day of skiing or a scooter ride in Bali: the action camera captures the moments when the phone remains in the pocket. The Ace Pro 2, co-developed with Leica, shoots in up to 8K, and its large sensor (1/1.3 inch) produces beautiful images even when the light is low, at sunset or indoors.
Its foldable screen makes it easy to film in vlog mode, and it’s waterproof without a case. This pack includes a second battery: a real plus when traveling, when you spend the day outdoors without a power outlet.
My advice: Add a fast and high-capacity microSD card (at least 128 GB): in 4K and 8K, the memory fills up very quickly. And to back up the videos, consider the SSD drive from idea 26.

Photo: Insta360 X4 AirThe Insta360 X4 Air 360° camera (starter pack)
- Approximately €429
- Videographers, social media enthusiasts
- Only 165 g

A 360° camera is a bit of magic: it films everything around it in 8K, and you choose the framing afterwards, on your phone. Gone are the missed moments because you were filming from the wrong side! And thanks to the «invisible selfie pole» effect, the pole disappears from the image: it’s like a drone is following you.
The X4 Air is the lightest in the range at 165 g, making it an ideal travel companion. It is waterproof, the lenses replace themselves if you scratch them, and it features a windscreen for cleaner sound on a motorcycle or bicycle. The starter pack contains the accessories to get you started right away.
My advice: Before offering, check that the person's phone is running the Insta360 app without any problems: that's where the editing process takes place.

Photo: DJI Lito 1The DJI Lito 1 drone for beginners (pack of 2 batteries)
- About 379 €
- Curious about aerial photography
- Less than 249 g (class C0)
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.5/5
Launched in 2026 to replace the Mini 4K, the DJI Lito 1 is designed for beginners. Its obstacle detection works in all directions: ideal for a first flight without stress over a beach or rice field. It shoots in 4K, takes photos up to 8K, and the ActiveTrack mode lets it follow you alone during a walk.
With less than 249 g, it falls into the C0 class, the simplest to use in Europe, and it fits into a backpack. This pack contains two batteries: convenient, because a drone battery runs out quickly when you're having fun!
Specifically: Many countries (and many areas in France, such as cities or national parks) restrict or ban drones. Always check the local regulations before taking off.

Photo: Instax Mini 12The Instax Mini 12 instant camera
- Around €80 (+ films)
- Those who love meeting people, families
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.6/5 by over 14,000 buyers
Click, and a few seconds later, the photo comes out of the camera. The Instax Mini 12 is my favorite way to say thank you to a family that welcomed you, to a guide, or to children you met along the way: you take the photo, you leave it with them. The smiles are guaranteed, and it's a memory they will keep.
It's ultra simple: the exposure is automatic, so no complicated settings are needed, and a small mirror on the front makes it easy to take selfies. Its mint green color is just as beautiful as a travel decoration.
My advice: Offer it with two or three packs of Instax Mini films (about 15 to 20 € for the 20 photos); otherwise, the person won't be able to use it on Christmas Day!

The same charm as the instant camera, but from the photos on your phone. You choose your best shot in your gallery, send it via Bluetooth, and a few seconds later you have a real print in the Instax Mini format. No more accidentally printed photos!
It fits in your pocket and runs on batteries. It's perfect for decorating a travel journal as you go along, giving a photo to people you meet along the way, or sending a really personal postcard. Its clay-colored design is very elegant.
My advice: it uses the same films as the Instax Mini 12 (idea 34). If the person already has the camera, this is the perfect accessory!

Photo: NEEWER tripodThe NEEWER TP34 flexible mini tripod
- About 16 €
- Solo travelers, couples, vloggers
- Tested by me
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.5/5
That one I have too, and it travels in my bag. Tired of group photos where the one holding the phone is always missing? This little tripod has articulated legs that wind around a branch, a parapet or a pole, or that stand on a rock. You set it up, you launch the timer, and everyone is finally in the photo.
It comes with a smartphone holder and a adapter for an action camera: it therefore also works with a GoPro, an Insta360 or a DJI Osmo. Perfect for long shots, sunset time-lapses or stable videos.
My advice: It makes a great duo with the action camera (idea 31) or the 360° camera (idea 32). And at that price, it's the perfect little gift to slip under the tree.

Photo: Cheerz albumThe travel photo album Cheerz
- Starting from €29.90
- Those who already have everything, the couples
- -5 € with my code
This is the most personal gift on this list, and the one that makes the biggest impact on the big day. Discreetly collect the most beautiful photos from your last trip (thanks Instagram!) and turn them into a real book to flip through and keep. Memories that won't be stuck in a phone anymore.
What I love about Cheerz are the hardbound covers illustrated by destination: 29 exclusive designs (Bali, Italy, Japan, Réunion, Thailand…), plus 2 universal designs for all trips. The album is 21 x 27 cm, with 24 to 128 pages, and can hold up to 1,152 photos.
My advice: Orders placed before the end of November will have their production and delivery times significantly extended in December.
For eco-friendly travelers and train lovers
More and more travelers want to take less plane travel. For them, the best gift isn't necessarily an object: it's what makes the train cheaper and simpler.
The Avantage SNCF card
- 49 € per year
- Those who take the train several times a year
- Young, Adult or Senior
For train lovers, this is the ultimate clever gift. The Avantage card offers 30 % discounts on TGV INOUI and Intercités trains, and especially capped prices depending on the length of the journey: €49 for less than 1 hour 30 minutes, €69 up to 3 hours, €89 beyond that, even for a holiday departure purchased at the last minute.
It costs €49 per year, regardless of age: there is a Young (12-27 years old), Adult (27-59 years old) and Senior (60 years and older) version. During the holidays, it is often reimbursed for the first return journey. And the discount also benefits the person traveling with the cardholder.
My advice: The card is dematerialized and personalized. Buy it on SNCF Connect in the name of the person, then slide a nice printed or drawn card under the tree for the surprise effect.
View on SNCF ConnectThe Interrail pass
- Starting from 283 € (about 212 € for those under 28 years old)
- Young people, retirees, fans of slow travel
- 33 countries
One pass, 33 European countries, and as many trains as you want: that's the promise of Interrail, the dream gift for a great train trip through Europe. Vienna, Prague, Ljubljana, the Norwegian fjords or the Italian coast… you hop on the train, look at the scenery pass by, and decide on the next step along the way.
I speak from experience: I traveled around Europe twice, including once with an Interrail pass, at the age of 25. And it was amazing! The freedom to choose my own route every day, the encounters in the compartments, the landscapes that pass by… these are some of my best travel memories.
The most popular formula, 4 days of travel to be used over a month, costs 283 € in 2e Class for an adult, and about €212 for those under 28. Bonus for families: up to two children aged 4 to 11 travel for free with an adult holding the pass.
Specifically: The pass is reserved for European residents. Some high-speed trains (TGV, Frecciarossa, AVE...) and all night trains require an additional reservation, ranging from a few euros to several dozen euros.

Photo: OKO H2O water bottleThe OKO H2O filtering jug (650 ml)
- Approximately 49 €
- Hiking, trips in Asia, Africa or Latin America
- Also for everyday use
In many countries, tap water is not drinkable, and you end up buying dozens of plastic bottles during the trip. With this OKO filtering water bottle, you fill it at the tap, at a fountain or in a stream, and the integrated filter treats the water while you drink it.
It contains 650 ml and remains lightweight, perfect for a day of hiking, cycling or exploring the city. It is also perfect for use at home to improve the taste of tap water. Your wallet and the planet will thank you!
My advice: Check the filter's lifespan in liters and consider buying a replacement cartridge for a long trip. In high-risk areas, ask a travel doctor for advice on water treatment.

Photo: Globe Trotter water bottleThe isothermal mug «Globe Trotter» with 50 stickers
- Approximately 48 €
- Hikers, eco-travelers
- 1 liter, hot 12 h / cold 24 h
A water bottle is the first step to avoid plastic bottles on trips. This one has an extra idea that makes it perfect for gifting: it comes with 50 stickers of the most beautiful places in the world. The traveler attaches the sticker to each destination visited, and the water bottle becomes a travel journal that you can take anywhere!
Made of isothermal stainless steel, it keeps tea or coffee hot for 12 hours and cool water for 24 hours, according to the manufacturer. With its 1 liter capacity, it can last an entire day of hiking or sightseeing in the sun.
My advice: To pass through security at the airport, empty it before the check and fill it up just after, at a fountain.

Photo: foldable meal boxesFoldable silicone lunch boxes (set of 3)
- About 14 €
- Fans of street food, picnics, zero waste
- 3 x 550 ml
A Thai pad at the night market, a salad bought at the supermarket for the train, leftovers from a too-rich dinner to take home: with these boxes, there’s no need for plastic or polystyrene containers. Each one holds 550 ml and closes with a lid.
Their advantage when traveling is that they are made of silicone and can be folded flat once empty, so you hardly have to take anything in the bag. The set of three (green, pink and blue) allows you to have one per meal, or to share it with your fellow travelers.
My advice: complete with a set of foldable cutlery and a water bottle (idea 6) to offer a real zero waste travel kit.

Offering the journey itself is to offer a souvenir. You board the train in the evening in Paris, you settle into your sleeper berth, you fall asleep to the sound of the tracks… and you wake up facing the sea or the mountains. The Intercités de Nuit connect Paris to several regions, for example to the Côte d'Azur, the Alps or the Pyrenees.
It's a gentler way to travel for the planet, and you get a night's hotel stay along the way. For a couple, a private sleeper berth transforms the journey into a small romantic adventure.
To check: lines, schedules and opening dates for sales often change. Check the offer just before you buy.

Photo: Merino.tech t-shirtThe 100 % merino t-shirt from Merino.tech (+ socks offered)
- Approximately 49 €
- Hiking enthusiasts, ultra-light travelers
- Rated 4.3/5 by over 1,800 buyers
Merino wool is the secret of travelers who travel light: it doesn't retain odors. You can wear the same t-shirt for several days in the backcountry and in the city, without making your neighbors run away from you. The result: less clothing in your bag, less laundry, and a material that lasts for years.
The Merino.tech one is 100% % merino, lightweight and breathable, gentle on the skin (it won't scratch, I promise!). It keeps you warm when it's chilly and stays comfortable when it's hot. Little bonus: a pair of merino socks is included.
My advice: This model is a women's cut, but the brand also has a version for men. Wash it in cold or 30°C water and dry it flat to keep its shape.

Photo: Dobble DisneyThe Dobble Disney card game
- About 13 €
- Children from 6 years old, families
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.7/5
Four hours by train, a long wait at the airport or a rainy evening at the campsite: Dobble saves you from all of these situations. The principle is ultra simple: you have to be the fastest to spot the common symbol between two cards, and the laughter is guaranteed. This version features Disney heroes, which will delight the youngest members of the family.
Its small round metal box fits in a pocket and resists in the bottom of the bag. It can be played by 2 to 8 players, with 5 different mini-games and short games of about 15 minutes each. Parents are sure to get involved too, we promise!
My advice: To play in a train or an airplane, the 2-player version works very well on a seat pad.

MallowAudio games without a screenThe Mallow audio gaming headset without screen
- Around €120 (games starting at €20)
- Children aged 4 to 10 years
- New feature 2026
My favorite way to keep the kids occupied without a tablet, and a brand-new addition to this end of the year! Mallow is an audio game console: the child places a figurine on it, talks to the characters and becomes the hero of the adventure. His voice serves as a controller, and the story adapts to what he says. Adventures, investigations, quizzes… the games are designed with specialists in child development to work on memory, concentration and language.
During the holidays, it's perfect for the end of the day at the hotel or in the rental: you forget about the screens, and the child has fun developing their imagination. It also has a sleep mode, which is very convenient for helping little ones fall asleep in an unfamiliar room.
My tip: The game mode requires an internet connection. At the hotel or in the rental, Wi‑Fi is sufficient. In the car, simply activate connection sharing on one of the parents' phone: long journeys pass much faster! The only exception: the plane, where you'll have to settle for the listening and sleeping modes, which work without a network.
Specifically: The box contains the speaker and a first figurine. The other games are sold separately (about €20 each).

Photo: JBL Junior 470 NCThe JBL Junior 470 NC wireless headphones for children
- About 70 €
- Children aged 3 to 10 years
- Amazon Choice, rated 4.6/5
An animated film on an airplane, an audio story in a car, a movie on the train: with its own headphones, the child is in their own bubble… and the parents can enjoy the peace and quiet. The JBL Junior 470 NC was designed for small ears: the JBL Safe Sound function limits the volume to protect their hearing.
A big plus for the trip: it has active noise reduction, like the big headphones, which reduces the drone of the plane. Wireless, with an advertised battery life of 50 hours, it can last an entire stay without recharging. It also has a built-in microphone for video calls with grandparents and parents!
My advice: To watch movies from the airplane's wireless screen, connect it to the Bluetooth adapter from idea 1.

Designed for small hands, it is sturdy and easy to use, with a color screen, special effects for fun editing, and games—all in French. It comes with a small tripod that transforms into a selfie pole: perfect for the holiday vlogs of aspiring YouTubers!
My advice: In the evening, look through his photos and videos from the day together. It's a great time for sharing, and a way to keep a record of the journey seen from a child's perspective.

Much more than a notebook to fill out: this notebook transforms the travel downtime into little adventures. Between the pages to write and draw his memories, the child finds games, puzzles, and comics with three little explorers who accompany him from start to finish.
It also offers mini cultural excursions and some translated phrases to help you get around like a real globetrotter. It follows the child everywhere, in the plane, on the train, at the hotel or with grandparents, and becomes a keepsake that you will cherish for years to come.
My advice: She slides a small bag containing crayons, a stick of glue and adhesive tape to stick the tickets, sheets and postcards collected along the way.

The family travel journal version! This large 146-page album is filled with multiple hands: you stick the photos, museum tickets, train tickets, and children's drawings in, and you write down the little anecdotes of the trip. A real project to do together during the holidays, and a treasure to browse through years later.
With its vintage cover in the style of an adventure book, it makes a real statement under the Christmas tree. It appeals just as much to children, who love to glue and decorate, as it does to nostalgic parents. And it serves as a reminder of all the memories, from holidays to weddings and the birth of a baby.

Where is Japan? And our last vacation's country? With this magnetic puzzle from Janod, geography becomes a game. The child places 92 magnets (countries, regions, capitals and small illustrations) on the board, and learns without even realizing it.
Once completed, the picture is hung on the wall of the room: it shows the countries already visited, and those that one dreams of visiting on the next trip. Made of wood and cotton, it is sturdy and beautiful, as often is the case with Janod.
My advice: Before a trip, show him the destination on the map and tell him what you will discover there. On the way back, he can explain to the whole family where he went!

- Approximately €95
- Children aged 3 to 8 years
- Rated 4.6/5 by more than 2,800 buyers
The endless corridors of the airport, the tired little legs, the «when will we arrive?»… The Samsonite Dream Rider solves all of that: the child sits on it like a little animal, and the parent pulls it along. The wait becomes a game, and the little ones love having their own suitcase.
It is signed Samsonite, so it is sturdy enough to handle family trips, and comes in several fun patterns (here, a leopard). With its dimensions of 51 x 37 x 22 cm, it contains the stuffed animals, games, and a spare outfit.
To check: Its dimensions are close to those of cabin luggage, but some low-cost airlines are more strict. Take a look at the airline's rules before taking it on board.

The classic gift for travelers, and it still always pleases. After every trip, we peel back the fine gold layer of the country we visited to reveal its colors. Little by little, the map tells the person’s entire journey… and the still-virgin areas make you want to go back even more.
This map is produced by Maps International, a publisher that has been producing maps for over 60 years. It is very detailed, and its 59 x 42 cm format easily finds its place on the wall in a living room, bedroom, or office.
My advice: Offer it with a frame; it's immediately more chic. And scratch it with a coin or a guitar pick, so as not to damage the adjacent borders.

More chic than a scratch card, and much more customizable: on this large wooden world map, a pin is planted in each place visited. You can also add more pins for your next dream destinations, or pin photos, train tickets, and postcards to it.
With its large size of 100 x 46 cm and its vintage look in natural cork, it quickly becomes the centerpiece of a living room or office wall. No need for a drill: it sticks directly to the wall. It comes with 50 dowels.
My advice: It uses two colors for the pests: one for the countries you have already visited, and another for those on your «bucket list». And it connects them with a thread to trace your routes!

Since it is made of cork, you can plant small pins in the countries you have already visited, or in those on your wish list. With its 20 cm diameter, it fits anywhere, and it is also very beautiful in a children's room to arouse the curiosity of the world.

Its 20 x 12 cm format slips into any bag. It is rechargeable: once the notebook is full, simply replace the lined pages and keep the cover, which tarnishes with each journey. The perfect gift for aspiring writers, at a low price.

See the price on AmazonThe 6 mistakes to avoid for a travel gift in 2026
- Offering an external battery that is too powerful. Beyond 100 Wh (about 27,000 mAh), the company's approval is required, and beyond 160 Wh, it is prohibited. A battery without readable capacity may even be refused at check-in.
- Offer an AirTag to a friend on Android. It won't work. Choose a tracker compatible with his phone.
- Offer a knife or a multi-tool to someone who is traveling in the cabin. Lenses are prohibited in the cabin: the gift will be confiscated by security.
- Offering a bulky item to a backpacker. If it doesn't fit in a 40-liter bag, he'll leave it at home. I promise.
- Paying the price of last year's model at a high price. The new Kindles arrive in mid-November 2026: the old model should be cheaper, not remain at the full price.
- Ordering too late. For anything that is personalized (photo book, engraved card), order before the end of November. After December 15, switch to digital gifts.
Your questions about gifts for travelers
What gift to give to a traveler who already has everything?
Betting on something that can’t be bought in pairs: a photo album of his last trip (idea 37) or a cork-board map of the world to pin his memories on (idea 54). For a keen reader, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature (idea 24) always works well.
What travel gift under 20 €?
The 3D sleep mask, the microfiber towel, the TSA lock, the pharmacy kit, the reusable meal kit, or a travel set. On sale, a luggage tracker also falls below €25.
What useful gift before a round-the-world trip?
A 40-liter cabin bag, compression cubes, a universal adapter, a battery under 100 Wh, and a first aid kit. Add an eSIM plan for the first destination, and it's perfect.
Can an external battery still be offered in 2026?
Yes, it is still allowed in the cabin. But more and more airlines are banning its use during the flight, including the Lufthansa Group from January 2026. Therefore, it is mainly used once it has arrived at its destination.
What a gift for a traveler who no longer takes the plane?
An Avantage SNCF card for €49, an Interrail pass, a night train ticket or a filter bottle: these are gifts that make the train cheaper or more enjoyable.
What last-minute gift for a traveler?
Think of the dematerialized gifts, which can be purchased online in just a few minutes: an eSIM Holafly or Saily package (idea 25), an Avantage SNCF card (idea 38) or an Interrail pass (idea 39). They arrive by email, even on December 24th.
What gift for a male or female traveler?
Almost all the ideas on this list are suitable for everyone. I recommend choosing them based on your travel style (backpack, suitcase, van, train) rather than based on their gender.
And what is the best travel gift you have received? Tell me about it in the comments; I'll add it to the next update of this list. And if this article helped you, discreetly send it to your loved ones… they'll just have to choose.
