OSH Hotel Cartagena: our family stay in this incredible hotel in Getsemaní
When we prepared our trip to Colombia, Cartagena was obviously one of the destinations I was most eager to discover. After several weeks traveling the country with my family, between big cities, mountains, and colorful villages, we finally arrived on the Caribbean coast.
For this stage, we chose to spend three nights at the’ OSH Hotel Cartagena, located in the Getsemaní neighborhood.
I already knew a little about the atmosphere of Cartagena from the many photos I had seen before our departure, but I still didn’t really know what to expect regarding our hotel. And in the end, the OSH took on a much more important role in our stay than I had imagined.
We had planned to discover Cartagena, walk through its streets and make the most of these few days in the city. But between the pool, the spaces where we could have lunch, the experiences offered by the hotel, and the moments spent with our family there, we also really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
And that’s ultimately what I like when I choose a place to stay during a trip: to find a place that’s not just a place where I go to sleep at night.
L’OSH Hotel, in the Getsemaní neighborhood
The hotel is located in Getsemaní, a neighborhood that I particularly wanted to discover in Cartagena.
I love these neighborhoods where you can leave your hotel and immediately find yourself immersed in the atmosphere of the city. In Getsemaní, the colorful streets, facades, frescoes, and the lively atmosphere are part of the scenery.
The location of the OSH allowed us to easily enjoy the neighborhood and discover Cartagena on foot. The Plaza de la Trinidad is located within a few minutes’ walk, and the Torre del Reloj is also easily accessible from the hotel.
For me, it’s a real advantage when I travel: being able to discover a city without feeling like I’m spending my time in transport.
Our rooms at the Hotel OSH Cartagena
There were four of us on this trip to Colombia and we had booked two rooms side by side at the Hotel OSH Cartagena.
This was really the configuration that suited us best for this trip. The children are growing up and, when we all four are traveling, I appreciate more and more that everyone can have their own space while still being close by.
After our days exploring Cartagena, we could then go back to our rooms, take a rest a bit, and then meet up around the pool or in the various areas of the hotel.
After several weeks of traveling with the family, this little comfort was really appreciated.
The pool and the beds: perfect for relaxing
The main pool quickly became one of our favorite places in the hotel.
Cartagena is a city where you walk a lot and, with the heat, we were always happy to find the Hotel OSH after several hours spent outside.
I especially loved the large beds installed around the pool. We could sit there comfortably and, above all, order food directly on site.
It was very convenient with the children. They could enjoy the pool while we were quietly settled around the water.
We therefore enjoyed several meals in this space, and I must say that I really appreciated the opportunity to eat without having to leave the pool.
After several weeks of traveling at a fairly steady pace, these quieter moments really helped.
The rooftop of the OSH Hotel Cartagena
I also really liked the rooftop of the OSH Hotel. You don’t necessarily have to go up there to admire an incredible view of Cartagena, because the neighborhood around it doesn’t offer particularly spectacular views. On the other hand, I found the view very nice for getting a little height and seeing the hotel from above.
From the rooftop, we can see the different spaces and the architecture of the OSH from a different angle, which I found quite nice.
But what I especially liked was the space itself. There is a swimming pool and sun loungers, perfect for relaxing after a day spent exploring Cartagena or simply enjoying the sun.
With the heat we had during our stay, it was really nice to have a second pool and several places to relax quietly in the hotel.
The experiences offered by the Hotel OSH Cartagena
What I also really liked about the Hotel OSH Cartagena are the various experiences offered during the stay.
The hotel does not just offer a room and spaces to relax. It also organizes various activities around Colombian culture, exploring Getsemaní, coffee, and wellness.
During our stay, we participated in Behind the Pizza, An experience about the preparation of pizzas.
And it was really a very good moment to share with all four of us.
We discovered the different stages of preparation and had a very friendly time. When I travel with children, I really like this kind of activity because it allows us to do something together and create a memory that is a bit out of the ordinary.

The server robots: a real attraction for children
I also have to talk to you about the robot servers, because the children obviously loved them.
At the Hotel OSH Cartagena, some services are carried out with the help of robots and, of course, this immediately caught their attention.
Whenever we saw one passing by, they were intrigued and wanted to know what he was going to do.
It’s quite original and adds a little different touch to the hotel experience.
Obviously, that’s not why we chose the OSH, but it’s typically the kind of detail that children remember long after a trip.

And then, the breakfast…
I think it’s clearly one of my big favorites from those three nights.
During our trip to Colombia, we stayed in several hotels and therefore tried quite a few breakfasts. But the one at the Hotel OSH Cartagena is really one of my favorites.
There were many choices and we really took the time to enjoy this moment before leaving to discover Cartagena.
I really enjoy these moments in the morning when we travel. The four of us are all around the table, talking about our plans for the day and taking the time to start quietly before we head back.
At the OSH, breakfast was truly a pleasure.
And I must admit that we sometimes wished we could try a little bit of everything. 😂
Is the Hotel OSH Cartagena suitable for families?
For us, yes, without hesitation.
We spent three nights at the Hotel OSH Cartagena with the children, and the configuration of our two rooms side by side was perfect.
But what I especially enjoyed was being able to easily alternate between the days of visiting and the moments when we simply stayed at the hotel.
The pool obviously pleased the children very much, as did the robot waiters, and the pizza workshop allowed us to share an activity together as a group of four.
I find it a real advantage when traveling with family. We can leave to discover Cartagena in the morning, return to swim in the afternoon, and finally adjust the day according to our fatigue and our desires.
After several weeks of travel, this balance was really pleasant.
My opinion about the Hotel OSH Cartagena
After three nights spent at the Hotel OSH Cartagena, I really have very good memories of this stage of our trip.
I liked its location in Getsemaní, which allowed us to easily discover Cartagena, but also the fact that the hotel was pleasant enough that we wanted to spend time there.
I particularly enjoyed the two pools, the beds around the main pool, the rooftop, and the various experiences offered.
Our pizza workshop will remain a lovely memory of our family trip, and the children will certainly remember the robot waiters for a long time.
But if I had to pick just one thing from our stay...
I think that would be breakfast. 😂
The Hotel OSH Cartagena was ultimately more than just a place to stay for us. It was part of our Colombian adventure and our memories of Cartagena.
