Traveling without leaving your home: My globetrotter's decor
As you know, I am a big fan of traveling. But when I can’t pack my bags for a new adventure, I love to find that energy and that magic at home. So here’s how I transformed my interior into a true invitation to travel… without having to go through customs!
1. A library full of travel guides
My favorite wall? The one filled with travel guides! I have an obsession with the Guide du Routard books, old maps, and even some notebooks from my previous trips. Nothing better than picking up a guidebook and discovering a new destination while still sitting in my armchair. Who knows, maybe my next trip will start here?
2. Assouline books: the art of luxury at home
Ah, the Assouline books… These treasures of escape that I would love to have in my living room. Their vibrant covers and dazzling images transport me directly to Capri, Marrakech or Saint-Barth. They are like hardbound plane tickets… except that they don’t force me to pack my bags! Plus, they make perfect decorative objects.
3. The Moroccan touch: my corner with a «riads vibe»
After a trip to Marrakech, I became truly obsessed with Moroccan decor. My home is now adorned with Berber carpets, lanterns, and hats. It is a daily reminder of the warm atmosphere of the souks and riads.
4. A large hammock in the garden: my tropical island at home
If I can’t be on a Caribbean beach, then the beach comes to me. In my garden, I have installed an immense hamac family-friendly (and I couldn't recommend the models more highly) Hammocks. It’s perfect for lounging with a book or watching the stars after a long day. Relaxation guaranteed.
5. A wall of frames filled with memories
A white wall is boring. So I turned mine into a gallery of my best travel moments. Each frame tells a story: cobbled streets in Lisbon, the skyline of NYC, a sunrise in Thailand… It’s like a living photo album, and it makes me want to book my next flight every time I pass it.
6. My collection of hats from all over the world
Heads are my little ritual reminder: sombreros from Mexico, capelines from Bali, straw hats from Provence… I have hung my collection on a wall, and it has become a true work of art. In addition to being decorative, each hat reminds me of an adventure or a meeting.
Traveling is also about returning home…
With these little touches, my home has become an extension of my travels. Every corner tells a story and reminds me that, even when I’m at home, the adventure is always present. So if you’re looking for ideas to travel without leaving your living room, take inspiration and let your decor take you away… without even moving a muscle!
