Visiting Cape Corse
Hello travelers!
When we talk about Corsica, we often talk about Bonifacio, Propriano or of Porto-Vecchio And yet there is a place, more unknown, that is the synthesis of everything we love about Corsica (beautiful hiking trails, top-notch beaches, exceptional villages and improbable coves), and that place is... Cap Corse with Bastia, Saint Florent and Patrimonio as entry points!
Ready to set off to the island of beauty? Here we go!
Let’s lay the groundwork: Corsica is a magnificent peninsula located in the north of the island, 37 km long and 10 km wide. Its inhabitants are called the Corsicans. You will be able to admire Genoese towers, old mills, churches and perched villages, as well as hiking trails in the maquis!
My favorite places in Cap Corse are (among others) the village of’Erbalunga, Pino and the Aliso Bay, Olmeta del Cap and the Black Sea Navy, the port of Macinaggio and the paths of the customs officers, the hiking trail the Monte Stello (the highest peak of Corsica).
My two big favorites remain Centuri and its fishing port of Nonza and its famous black pebble beach. I’ll tell you a little more about it.
Centuri Is one of the most beautiful villages in France; this fishing port is the ideal postcard of Corsica, with its traditional houses lining narrow streets, its colorful boats, and a magnificent sunset over the small islands off the coast. When you stay in Centuri, you have the impression that time stops, sublime and instagrammable.

Nonza And its black pebble beach is a must-see when visiting Cap Corse. This fortified village is perched high on a cliff that overlooks the sea and a huge black pebble beach! The view? Exceptional with a panorama over the Gulf of Saint Florent. A little tip: the best spot to admire the landscape while sipping a local beer or a Corsican wine remains the bar/restaurant la Sassa, a must-visit!

In Cap Corse, you can also swim in great beaches, and I’ll give you 3 spots:
For those who love sand (and not pebbles), I recommend the beach of Pietacorbara Located 40 minutes from Bastia on the east coast of Corsica. This very large wild beach ensures you a beautiful sunbathing spot with a view of the island of Elba.
For a smaller and wilder beach, head to Cagnano located just after. the village of Porticciolo.
A renowned spot, hurry up to get to Farinole Beach, next to Nonza, especially for water sports enthusiasts like surfing! Don’t worry, sun seekers, you can also enjoy the long stretch of fine sand in a laid-back way.
To get there, we recommend you take a flight Paris Bastia, and then rent a car at the Bastia airport.
As you have probably noticed, Cape Corse is a magnificent place to discover immediately; a travel destination that stands out from the ordinary; you will return to the continent with memories that will stay with you forever.
