A cruise in the Seychelles: luxury in a wild paradise
The Seychelles Just by hearing that name, my mind escapes from the daily routine filled with curfews, quarantines and other restrictions to reach vast expanses of sand and a turquoise sea that is rarely seen!
That’s why, to get out of our somewhat repetitive and anxiety-inducing daily routine these days, I’ve chosen today to talk to you about this dream destination.

The Seychelles, the archipelago of 115 islands
Like many other island destinations (such as Micronesia), the Seychelles are an archipelago, a grouping of many “shimmery” islands., 115 islands To be exact! Each of these equatorial islands has its own specific characteristics, more or less wild or built, steep or flat… with their own ecosystems. To make the most of this range of possibilities, the best solution in my opinion is to opt for a cruise. Very good French companies, like Ponant, They offer a wide selection of tours that allow everyone to find the one that suits them best.
Since transfers from one island to another can be complicated and expensive, not to mention the need to find different accommodation for each island, it is all the more interesting to consider a cruise.

When to go there?
The Seychelles have a tropical climate, which makes certain seasons less suitable for tourism. Personally, even if I have to visit such a paradisiacal place, I would be disappointed to have to endure two weeks of rain. The rainy season extends from October to March, however it is also the period when temperatures are at their highest (more than 30°C on average).
Between June and September, you will find a drier and warmer climate while still being warm. Note that July and August record the highest rates of tourist traffic! If you want to enjoy the scenery “just for yourself”, I recommend the off-season: between April and June or in September.
What to do?
If you visit the Seychelles on a cruise, you will probably be offered many activities. Among the must-dos of such a trip are:
● Hiking: In reality, the small size of the islands does not allow for long treks, as it would be a disappointment for the most experienced hikers! However, fans of hiking will find their delight on the island of Mahé, which has 12 trails that allow visitors to discover the local flora and fauna, and are designed to raise tourists’ awareness of environmental issues.
● Underwater discoveries: One of the most beautiful riches of this archipelago is, of course, its wildlife! Whether you prefer snorkeling or diving at all levels, you cannot leave the Seychelles without putting on a mask and heading out to search for the famous turtles that populate the archipelago. This destination, like Koh Tao in Thailand, is known as one of the most beautiful diving spots in the world. The clarity of the waters allows for fantastic exploration that you will remember forever.
● Relaxation: Let’s be honest: the beaches of fine sand that the Seychelles are full of are a veritable invitation to relaxation! That’s convenient, because everything is designed to ensure that tourists find rest and pleasure during their holidays. The comfort offered on cruise ships is carried over to the infrastructure offered on the inhabited micro-islands of the archipelago.

So, convinced? Since it’s impossible to go abroad right now, due to covid, I hope this article has given you the same freedom to travel as I did while writing it!
