Located a little more than a hundred kilometers from Amman, the «Kerak of the Moabites» is a must-see stop on the route. The Route of the Kings. This imposing fortress was built in the 12th century by the Crusaders on a rocky outcrop surrounded by the current city of Kerak and has withstood wars as well as numerous earthquakes.

Yes, even in front of Petra! In fact, it’s hard to describe the emotion felt… Beyond feeling out of time, you especially feel like you’re on another planet.
This desert is known for being the filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, but did you know that some scenes from the film Alone on Mars were filmed there? The scenery is simply spectacular, day and night! We spent 2 days in this desert doing camel riding, 4×4 driving, and surfing in the red dunes.
In the evening we slept in a Bedouin camp located at the foot of a large rock formation in the heart of Wadi Rum and we were lucky enough to be able to gaze at the Milky Way, a wonder… I will soon share my story and my favorites in a dedicated article 🙂

The Dead Sea
Those most addicted to exfoliating treatments, and other skin care products, will be delighted to know that the Dead Sea has undeniable beneficial effects on your skin.
The high concentration of salt makes bathing a bit spicy with a particular sensation of floating that is found only here; it’s really surprising!
You will therefore be able to try swimming in extremely salty and hot seawater, and for the most courageous you can even add a mud bath before rinsing off in the water to regain a beautiful, soft and silky skin—the ultimate happiness!
Practical advice: avoid swimming if you have any skin lesions or irritations; you will suffer so much from the salt that it will sting!

Canyoning in the gorges of the Wadi Mujib
Looking for thrills and remarkable scenery? Head to the gorges of Wadi Mujib, located near the Dead Sea, for 2 hours of canyoning along the siq trail. The entire course is done in (warm) water, climbing up the current, scaling the rocks, and passing through small waterfalls. I assure you, you don’t need to be a seasoned athlete to enjoy this aquatic hike; the course is quite easy and accessible to everyone.
The departure takes place from the Visitor Center, where you can leave your car in the parking lot, leave unnecessary belongings in lockers, and pick up your safety vest. You will also be able to learn a lot about the history and geology of the site over the millennia. The activity is very well supervised, as there are guides along the entire route who ensure your safety and help you cross over access points. At times, don’t miss the opportunity to look up to admire the beauty of the scenery; it’s truly astonishing and you feel very small!
Tips: Consider wearing good hiking shoes, a waterproof backpack, a water bottle, and a waterproof GoPro camera.
