Great deal this summer: the ParisYogAéroport!

Hello everyone!

Last month on social media I saw a great campaign launched by the group. Paris Aéroport (i.e. a giant yoga class) (and free) in the boarding rooms!

For some time now I’ve been hearing more and more about the benefits of yoga, and I’m thinking about it. Anne Dubndidu with whom I went to Australia and who I had the opportunity to photograph many times in yoga poses, and I also think of Mathilde who has integrated yoga into their daily life… And me in all of this? I haven’t had the chance to do that yet! When I heard about the project from the Paris Aéroport group, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try it out, and it’s coming at a perfect time because I actually have to take a plane to the Ardennes in early August.

I wanted to share this information with you and I’ll explain everything here 😉 Every Friday and Saturday from July 15 to August 13 You will be able to attend a free yoga class and most importantly: you will be able to learn relaxation techniques to use before, during and after a flight!

What is yoga?

Yoga is a centuries-old discipline that draws its roots from South Asia and more specifically from India. Although some poses are impressive, yoga is suitable for all audiences and does not promote self-improvement; on the contrary, it serves to bring one back to focus and calm the mind and body by harmonizing the body and the mind. In many cases, yoga is recommended: for various muscular aches, anxiety or stress, or even fatigue... or sleep problems.

Knowing that everyday life can sometimes be challenging, this practice can only help us overcome difficult times. And for most of us, taking the plane can prove complicated. While this means of transport is reliable and fast, being locked away several kilometers from the ground can be terrifying for some… as for the physical conditions, they are often challenging: cramps, heavy legs, poor sleep—these are just some of the things that can ruin our first day of vacation.

Fortunately, yoga can help you approach your journey with ease!

Here’s what I was advised for my next trips

Before leaving:

Ideally, you should start practicing yoga several weeks or more before leaving for your trip; that way, on the day of the trip you’ll be able to reproduce the poses perfectly for a deeper effect.

Depending on the flight time, for short distances, prioritize energizing poses such as the greeting to the sun which will prevent you from falling asleep and provide you with enough energy to reach your new destination. For a longer flight, relaxation is key, and poses like the child’s pose or the prayer pose will ensure a calm journey. For those who are anxious, these exercises can be accompanied by meditation that will allow you to empty your mind and think of nothing.

Once on board, feel free to stretch your legs and practice some discreet seated poses; the frog pose and the seated twist are particularly recommended. In case of stress attacks, sit with your back straight and observe your breathing.

These simple rituals should allow you to enjoy great plane trips from now on! For my part, I’ll see what this first session at the airport in early August holds in store for me; it will be the end of my vacation and with the fatigue building up, it will do me the greatest favor!
