10 road trips in the USA and Canada that make you want to go on an adventure

They don't teach you anything: We are passionate about North America and adventure! But apart from our many trips to the East Coast of the USA and Montreal, we have never gone on an unforgettable road trip to discover the wildest regions and the most legendary cities. We get excited when we read the stories of camping trips in a camper van, motorcycle or old convertible on The mythical roads of the USA And from Canada. There is a strong chance that one day we will crack, that we will decide to take the plunge and finally live this unforgettable adventure that seems to mark every traveler forever. If the opportunity arises, there is a strong chance that the journey will begin from one of the main cities on the West Coast, San Francisco or Los Angeles, then delve into the countryside to discover the great parks, vast desert expanses that seem endless, to rediscover a traditional and authentic America that contrasts sharply with the dynamic and overcrowded megacities. The other option would be to take a trip across the USA starting from the East Coast with New York as a starting point, to reach the western coast, and why not a return by crossing Canada from one side to the other…? Ah, that makes for a very dreamy experience…

By browsing the web, we have compiled a list of the 10 must-do road trips in North America; a great opportunity to get inspired if you too want to experience this adventure.

  • Beautiful photos by Capucine and Thibault! Thanks

  • It’s so big that it offers a wide choice in terms of destinations. I love it!

  • Hello, your site is gold… I just realized my dream… to visit both poles… but all this while working. Yes!!! I’m a baker after all… so thank you in advance for all the ideas you provide

    • Capucine & Thibault

Super Pierre! As a baker, you can work anywhere in the world, you know!
We would also like to visit the two poles, maybe someday.
      See you soon

  • Very beautiful blog. It makes me dream. I plan to spend 4 months in the USA. I hadn’t considered Canada. But I think I will include it thanks to your wonderful photos.
Could you give an estimate of the budget for each of these trips?
    Thanks

  • Beautiful blog and the photos are, to put it simply, absolutely stunning!!
For my part, I’ve returned from a road trip where I made a loop from Vancouver to San Francisco, passing through the interior (Yosemite, Crater Lake, etc.) and back along the coast (California 1 and Route 101). All these landscapes are absolutely wonderful and my eyes are filled with stars every day!!
A little video of my road trip if you want to 😉

  • The photos are simply beautiful 😉 It makes you want to go out with a camera in hand 🙂

We went with a friend for 3 months to drive around the USA by car, MAGICAL!! What I wouldn’t give to do it again. I love your blog, you are now in my favorites. Thanks for your wonderful photos.

  • A whole program 😉 to do them all, it would take a year (if choosing one is more difficult than the other…)

  • Wow! I'll be leaning more towards numbers 2 – 3 and 8. I don't know Canada very well, except for Quebec which is really a shame.
But for the USA, my dream would be to drive across the USA from East to West during a road trip… Well, I’ll have to plan at least 3 months to do this in order to properly visit each stop and avoid getting caught in the wind 🙂
    Otherwise, these photos are top-notch!

  • Jane Elizabeth McCandless

Ah, to make you dream, it makes you dream!!! I say YES to all these circuits… but I would add many more too haha. And don’t forget to visit the Yukon, even if it’s not part of any of these circuits, because it would be really a shame to forget it! 😉

  • But why don’t I have more vacation days? I want to take them all 🙂

  • Very nice photos… but there is one photo that is strange to me and I wonder if it’s real or not!! …that’s your second photo, it looks like a hole…???

  • Travel Diaries Photos

Damn! (I had to check that one out 😀 ) The choice is overwhelming… I’ve partially recovered my itinerary that I’ve been dreaming about for almost 1 and a half years and that we’re going to realize very soon. But I must say that there are many others that catch my eye. Bravo for this fun article that makes me dream!

  • Indeed, it all makes you want to do it!! Okay, I’ll go back to work now… 😉

  • Wow, that really makes you want to go right away. We can’t even decide which one to get.

    • And yes, Justine, I’m still hesitating between the first three. Florida and the East Coast are already booked, whereas California… The choice is still difficult…

  • It’s great to have this listed with beautiful images like this. I’ll put this article aside in my travel ideas lists. 🙂

  • It’s clear that it makes you want to do it!!!

  • These circuits are truly inspiring… one day it might still be a pleasure to read the blog 😉
