Travels in 2017: the results of these first 6 months!

We can say that this year has been rich in travel and discoveries! Just yesterday, Capucine and I realized that the last stay in the Maltese capital was the 10th since the beginning of the year… Well, these trips are not without their challenges because many of them are carried out as part of content production operations: photos, videos, articles, not to mention the constant activity on social media; nevertheless, we still have unforgettable memories… We feel like we are living with an incomparable sense of freedom. The first to be surprised are our loved ones, who for some of them do not necessarily understand this choice of life on the fringes, at «a thousand miles an hour». And no, we are still not married, we still have no children, we have not bought a house or an apartment yet and we have not taken out a big loan to repay. At least, that’s not on the agenda yet 🙂

Here are our 10 trips made since the beginning of 2017:

PRAGUE

2017 began in Prague for the romantic New Year’s Eve; 4 wonderful days in this romantic and charming city, especially at this time of the year.

FRANCE POLYNESIA

In January, the two of us went to Polynesia to discover Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora, a «journey of a lifetime» that leaves a lasting impression, a dream come true. You can read the article here: Tahiti and its islands in 10 unforgettable memories…

MONTREAL

LONDON / LIVERPOOL vs UKRAINE

This time we traveled separately as friends, and it’s really nice to do that from time to time! Capucine went to England with Marion from the tourdumonde.fr blog for a 100% girly weekend with activities like shopping, wellness, afternoon tea, and restaurants. While I was traveling with a group of friends to discover Kiev in Ukraine and we did an urban exploration in Chernobyl. I will soon tell you about this quite unique experience on the blog.

ROME

We love spending long weekends all over Europe and this time we set up base in Rome. Flights from Nice aren’t expensive and on site we rented an apartment just steps from the Trevi Fountain, a perfect location to rediscover the Città Eterna. We both already knew the city so we took the opportunity to discover new little neighborhoods and good places to eat! We had a big crush on the Tras Tevere neighborhood, the perfect place to spend a good evening!

Isle Maurice

Another travel dream came true this year. After Polynesia, we are now in Mauritius, a true little corner of paradise that we discovered with other bloggers/Instagrammers. VIETNAM

Right now we are very busy with work, but we promise to make a recap on our favorite places in Vietnam, a country that really charmed me and left me with wonderful memories. A little less for Capucine since she was very sick at the end of our stay! There are so many contrasts… From one region to another, the landscapes change, the people, the cuisine and many more things. We had some amazing experiences in Halong Bay, in the provinces of Ninh Binh and Quang Binh, not to mention Hanoi, the capital that is simply fascinating. This trip was very short and all I want to do is go back again for much longer (1 month) to discover other regions like the North and other cities like Hoi An and Hochimin. This destination is accessible to everyone. Some people might prefer to plan the trip themselves, while others, like our parents, could get help from specialized tour operators like Terre Voyages.

SAVOY-MONT BLANC: LAKE D’AIGUEBELETTE

We went for 4 days Aiguebelette Lake, the door of the Savoie Mont Blanc. We really didn’t expect to discover such beautiful landscapes just 45 minutes from Lyon! It’s the ideal destination to get some fresh air, green space, relax, and also enjoy the many leisure activities around this magnificent lake with its turquoise colors.

MALTA: LA VALETTE

And voilà, here is our last trip, we have returned from La Valette It’s been barely two days and we’ve been fascinated by this quite unique city, rich with a turbulent history and exceptional cultural heritage. We loved strolling through the many streets of the city at all hours of the day to appreciate the changing light and enjoy the local way of life; it’s truly magical… We’ll tell you more about it very soon on the blog 🙂
