Impossible to dream of a better location: MOMO is located directly in Jemaa el-Fna Square, the vibrant heart of Marrakech.
We ate there in the early afternoon on the rooftop, Enjoying the sun and the incredible view of all the activity in the square. It’s really impressive to observe the bustle of the medina from the terrace.
The service was fast, This is very appreciated when you are in the middle of a day of visits.
The decoration is also a real highlight of the place: colorful, elegant and very fun, With a lot of detail even in the toilets. The place is really successful and very photogenic.

Le Salama – my panoramic delight over Jemaa el-Fna
The restaurant is located directly in Jemaa el-Fna square, And what particularly pleased me is The different levels of the restaurant, Each with a different decoration. You move from one floor to the next like in a riad, with very varied atmospheres.
My favorite place remains the last floor under the veranda, With this magnificent Panoramic terrace bathed in sunshine. The view of the roofs of the medina is superb and the atmosphere is really pleasant.
We chose the experience menu at 600 dirhams, And it was absolutely incredible. Several dishes are served to allow you to discover A wide range of Moroccan cuisine, And I loved being able to try out many different specialties during this lunch.
Everything was delicious and it was really A very beautiful gastronomic experience in Marrakech.
Important little detail for some travelers: the restaurant serves alcohol, This is quite rare in the medina. I was therefore able to enjoy a Spritz with St-Germain in the full sun on the terrace.
Le Salama is open every day and also offers Animated dinners with music and oriental entertainment, In a very festive atmosphere.

I had spotted this restaurant on Instagram Before my trip, I was very eager to discover this place located Rue Mouassine, Near the Secret Garden.
The decor is beautiful, with lots of details and especially many luminaires which give the place a lot of charm.
On the culinary side, the dishes are Simple and authentic, With a beautiful selection of Moroccan dishes: tajines, salads and traditional harira.
I particularly enjoyed:

- the atmosphere is casual
- the simplicity and authenticity of the place

Ayaso Rooftop – Sunset on Spice Square
The first time, it was on our arrival, Simply to drink a mint tea on the terrace, while admiring My favorite place in the medina: the Spice Square. I love the atmosphere of this square, always lively but a little more subdued than Jemaa el-Fna.
We went back there the last evening of the stay, This time, to enjoy from sunset from the rooftop. The light on the roofs of the medina and on the square is really beautiful at that time.
The terrace offers a very beautiful view of Rahba Kedima (the place of spices) and on the turmoil of the market at the bottom.

I really like stopping there during my stay eating a good cake with a mint tea, But I’ll go back there too at the end of the trip to buy pastries to take back to France.
The showcase is filled with Moroccan specialties:
Gazelle horns, almond brioches, honey cakes or pistachio pastries… it’s hard to choose, as everything looks delicious.
The advantage is that they offer several sizes of boxes, This makes it easy to pack a variety of items. And if you’re traveling by plane, you can ask them to pack the pastries well for transportation, What they do very well.

Kabana – my favorite rooftop for a sunset cocktail
Kabana clearly part of it the most trendy rooftops in Marrakech, And it’s an address I love to go to drinking a cocktail at the end of the day.
The restaurant is located near the Mosque of the Koutoubia, and the terrace offers a very beautiful view of the roofs of the medina. The place is particularly pleasant at the moment of sunset, When the light turns golden over Marrakech.
The atmosphere is very cosmopolitan, with colorful decor and a relaxed atmosphere. You can come here for a drink or for dinner, with a menu featuring Mediterranean and international influences, where you can also find sushi.
In the evening, the atmosphere often becomes a little more festive, with sometimes music or DJ sets.

In the small restaurants or cafes of the medina, a dish usually costs between 60 and 120 dirhams (about 6 to 12 €).
In more trendy restaurants or on rooftops, you should count on it instead. between 120 and 250 dirhams per dish.
Some establishments also offer more complete tasting menus, as at Salama where we tested the experience menu at 600 dirhams, which allows you to discover several Moroccan specialties.
Overall, Eating in Marrakech remains quite affordable Compared to many European destinations.
Where can you eat Moroccan pastries in Marrakech?
If you like Moroccan pastries, I recommend the Pâtisserie des Princes, an essential address near Jemaa el-Fna square. You will find gazelle horns, almond brioches and honey pastries there.
It is also an excellent address for buy boxes of cakes to bring back to France, Because they can pack them for transport by plane.
