Garden by The Bay, the futuristic garden of Singapore

Singapore’s tropical climate is conducive to the development of lush vegetation. And the city wanted to enhance the local wildlife by building Garden By The Bay, this immense 101-hectare new-generation garden in the middle of the city, along the bay, facing the waterfront. Welcome to Pandora!

Garden by The Bay offers infrastructure worthy of the best science fiction films. I was impressed by these two giant domes-shaped greenhouses (Flower dome and Cloud Forest) that house more than 200,000 species of rare plants in danger of extinction, futuristic facilities, suspended bridges amidst lush nature and even an artificial mountain 35 meters high from which a waterfall pours down. This green lung in the middle of the city, located just steps from the famous Marina Bay Sand hotel, attracts visitors from all over the world. A successful bet for Singapore, which relied on this pharaonic project to rehabilitate the image of a state still very young.

I recommend you to attend the light and sound show (Garden Rhapsody show) that takes place every evening at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM in the heart of this immense park, where these 18 illuminated artificial trees (Supertree Grove) transport us to another world… You’ll almost feel like you’re in Avatar! An unforgettable experience that appeals to both young and old 🙂

Prices: Access to the two domes of Garden By The Bay costs 28$ for an adult and 15$ for a child. Access to the nighttime show is free, as is the walk through the gardens. For 8$ per person you can also take in the view and stroll on the OCBC Skyway, a 120-meter-long walkway located 22 meters above the ground that connects these 18 majestic trees.
